“Midi’s Mystic Oracle of Axioms” is my first Korsakow video project. What is a Korsakow you might ask? Well, according to the official website, this is the definition:
“The Korsakow System (pronounced ‘KOR-SA-KOV’) is an easy-to-use computer program for the creation of database films. It was invented by Florian Thalhofer, a Berlin-based media artist. Korsakow Films are films with a twist: They are interactive – the viewer has influence on the K-Film. They are rule-based – the author decides on the rules by which the scenes relate to each other, but s/he does not create fixed paths. K-Films are generative – the order of the scenes is calculated while viewing. “
For the next three years, I will be working on ARC: Adventures in Research/Creation co-directed by Concordia University professors Monika Kin Gagnon and Matt Soar. Phil Hoffman and myself will be working on individual projects and sharing our work processes and ideas. So far we’ve met twice in Montreal, most recently in late January.
Currently I am beginning to work on the footage that I shot while I was in Afghanistan courtesy of the Canadian Forces. More on this as the year progresses, but in the meantime, let the Mystic Oracle reveal something that perhaps you didn’t know about yourself. Update: That work is now online.
THIS PROJECT MUST BE VIEWED THROUGH THE FIREFOX BROWSER WITH THE FLASH PLUG-IN.
