On Saturday Jan. 30 at 7:00 pm, the 8 Fest features a special program of super 8 films and soundtracks. Curated by Milada Kovacova, “Golden: the Polyphonic Aural Experience” showcases a random fusion of five filmmakers with 5 audio artists. According to the catalogue: “experimentation, audacity, and revolt will be essential elements of Golden. This is a rehash. Expect no biases here. There is no inclination here of picture dominating sound. Audio plays as equal a part of the image.”
For this program, I made “Golden Rules” – a mish-mash, hyped up mélange of images. Shot primarily on my iPhone, with stolen moments from youtube, transferred to B/W super 8 film, “Golden Rules” marks a return to film via digital applications. Check it out!
