PRACTICAL DREAMERS

May 13th—An Evening with the ‘Practical Dreamers’
This Is Not A Reading Series launches a new book on Canada’s most exciting fringe filmmakers

‘The streets are full of admirable craftsmen, but so few practical dreamers.’ – Man Ray

What if movies were made the same way as suits: custom fitted, each one tailored for one person? On May 13th, join some of the brightest stars from Toronto’s fringe film and video scene – including Midi Onodera (Ville Quelle Ville), Jubal Brown (TBD), Su Rynard (8 Men Called Eugene) and Richard Fung (Islands) – as we showcase their dazzling and mysterious short films at the Gladstone Hotel (1214 Queen St. W., Toronto). The launch of Practical Dreamers: Conversations with Movie Artists, presented in part by Pages’ This Is Not A Reading Series and the Images Festival, will also feature some of the artists in conversation with Practical Dreamers editor Mike Hoolboom.
