MANO-RAMO (The Media Arts Network of Ontario/Réseau des arts médiatiques de l’Ontario) is please to invite the general public to the launch of OTHER PLACES Reflections of Media Arts in Canada, edited by Deanna Bowen.
In order to celebrate the publication of the book, MANO-RAMO is organizing a series of screenings, talks and opportunities to gather in Toronto. The Launch Event will take place at the Art Gallery of Ontario’s Jackman Hall from November 21st to 23rd, 2019.

Midi Onodera’s “I have no memory of my direction” will be screened.
At 6:30, a selection of short work by Louise Noguchi will be presented. Initiated by Cindy Mochizuki, Louise and Midi contribute to the illustrated essay, “What we saw and what we didn’t see, conversational urgencies”.
Saturday November 23, 8:00pm

A selection of short films curated by Tess Takahashi will be screened including Midi Onodera’s “Ten Cents a Dance (Parallax)” 1985.
This screening celebrates Tess Takahashi’s essay, “Queer Film at the Canadian Filmmaker’s Distribution Centre (1965-1985)”
