Imaginations, an Alberta-based international publication focusing on cross-cultural image studies, recently published a shining review of Midi Onodera’s Vidoodles exhibition, currently up at the Concordia Media Gallery in Montreal. Alison Reiko Loader writes:
[What makes Onodera’s Vidoodles special is that] they are not simply glimpses into her or another’s subjective points of view, but rather are invitations to embody, experience and mix them with one’s own. Images, sound and text tug at thoughts buried just below the surface of daily life, turning perspective inward to yet another place of spectatorship.
Midi Onodera’s Vidoodles: Intimate Cinema, co-curated by Matt Soar and Monika Kin Gagnon, is showing from September 15-December 9, 2011, at the Concordia University Media Gallery, Loyola Campus, CJ Building 1.419, 7141 Sherbrooke Street West, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
