INFINITE DISTANCE

I am pleased to announce that my new series, Soliloquy, Soliloquy is premiering in the group show, INFINITE DISTANCE. This series of 12 videos is a site-specific interpretation of the 2018 series, Soliloquy

Originally this group exhibition was scheduled for 2020 during the first Covid-19 lockdown and has been revamped for online consumption. All the videos were re-mastered for this online experience. Artists include: Andy Slater, Black Quantum Futurism, Johanna Hedva, Justin Barton + Mark Fisher, SHATTERED MOON ALLIANCE, Simon M Benedict, The Otolith Group, and Vera Frenkel.

INFINITE DISTANCE is an online exhibition presented in conjunction with the November release for Almanac for Refusal, the digital platform of transmediale festival 2021-22. Curated by Shani Parsons of Critical Distance 

The online exhibition embraces the im/possibilities inherent to humanity’s use of language – ever the imprecise tool – to commune across the unfathomable divide between our individual lives. Against the anti-human endgames of shutdown, depoliticization, and withdrawal, INFINITE DISTANCE amplifies voices for whom communication – with care – is the only way forward toward a more human future.

transmediale 2021-22 for refusal

For the last lunar cycle of autumn, the Almanac for Refusal looks into strategies for living in compromised environments. Thinking through permeability and entanglement, the contributors revitalise traditions and craft new tactics to reconsider our relationship with more-than-human beings, whether toxic or otherwise. In this release, we come to understand refusal as degrowth, dispossession, defiance, and turning back.
