For the 2010 Nuit Blanche, Toronto’s all night art mosh (or at least that was the scene on Yonge St. at 3 am), Peggy Baker Dance Projects did it again over at Canada’s National Ballet School. This time, 12 dancers over 12 hours performed an ever-changing series of duets choreographed by Peggy Baker. Accompanied by random musical compositions by Ben Grossman, the evening was mesmerizing. The challenge to perform for 12 hours is a feat beyond even the most dedicated. My sincere respect and admiration go out to the outstanding cast of endurance dancers: Kate Alton, Nova Bhattacharya, Sylvain Brochu, Sasha Ivanochko, Sean Ling, Sahara Morimoto, Sarah Fregeau, David Houle, Andrea Nann, Jessica Runge, Brodie Stevenson and Peggy Baker. Sorry I fell asleep right at the end, but the camera was still rolling. Please check out Aleatoria, the time-lapse documentation.
Take a look at Aleatoria on the Films page. There’s a short and long version.
