Vidoodles: Intimate Cinema at Concordia University

Opens Thursday, September 15, 2011
A public reception will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 pm

I am excited to invite you to my upcoming exhibition at Concordia University, which will feature two media works. Tabletop Viewables (2011) is a brand new multi-screen miniature cinema installation. My 2009 project, Movie of the Week will also be presented on a new interactive touchscreen. Like a doodle, these experimental narrative videos are unselfconscious expressions, casual amusements that evoke quiet moments of contemplation. Tabletop Viewables is the first in a series of new works that challenge ordinary perception and modes of viewing, and encourage the viewer to view the everyday world differently. This exhibition is co-curated by Communication Studies professors Matt Soar and Monika Kin Gagnon.

The Media Gallery exhibits the dynamic creative media work produced in Communication Studies as well as hosting innovative exhibitions by local, national and international media artists. Vidoodles: Intimate Cinema is supported by Communication Studies, Concordia Mobilities Research Network, Vice President, Research and Graduate Studies, FQRSC and SSHRC.

The exhibition runs from September 15 to December 9
