Odd Socks (2012)

2012… Do I even need to say Mayan calendar? There is an interesting article on DiscoveryNews that sheds some light on this calendar. Regardless of whether or not you believe that the end is near, there is no denying that this is the last year in this century that we can celebrate a day with the same day, month and year: 12/12/12. On this date I hope to have a special something to post. In the meantime, this year’s project is called “Odd Socks”. Imagine delving behind a clothes dryer and finding all those missing socks, covered in lint, used dryer sheets and spider webs. This is what I’ll be doing in 2012: making videos and posting new projects that have no theme other than catching up from previous projects and starting new ones. This year is about matching socks, creative process, dabbling in the different. New postings will occur on the last day of each month.

Based on the mirror self recognition test, elephants recognize the image they see reflected back is their own self. This ability is considered the basis for empathy, altruism and higher social interaction.
