mit out sound

Mit out password is a contemporary play on the old film term, MOS. Although there are many interpretations of this acronym, the most common is Mit Out Sound. Legend has it that back in the days of old Hollywood, a German director wanted to film a scene “without sound” but he had trouble pronouncing “without” which was heard as “mit out”. MOS became the designation on the film slate to indicate there was no sound recorded. Today, surveillance cameras come with generic factory set passwords or without passwords altogether. As a result, many people do not reset this factory setting, making it open to the public. Insecam.org is the world’s largest directory of online surveillance security IP cameras.
